Troubleshooting jailbreak Kindle Oasis 10

Bought a new Oasis, (old one began to crap out), stuck at step 5 of winterbreak.

have tried what this person did to fix it, and both troubleshooting steps on the winterbreak part in the kindlemodding website, all at least 3-4 times. factory reset and everything, not sure what to do from here, would love some advice.

Also, when opening the kindle, there are different folders than what the winterbreak site shows and this is after factory resetting: ".hidden" the only one I'm concerned about; "audible"; "voice". there's also an ".active_content_sandbox" but I've gone through and deleted from there everything I can. tried messing with, deleting code but not the file itself, all the above tricks. I know I'm missing something, but not sure what- would love some help from anyone.

also, in the .active_content_sandbox there are two other files, "audibleupsell" and "ku" which weren't there on my old oasis last I checked (8th gen). nothing in either of them and I have hidden files visible (hence the .hidden above, I think.)

about to try the "delete text and save from secondaryStore" that the person I linked above did, even though this file also has mesquito data. I'm desperate

Anyways, firmware is 5.17.1.03 in case anyone needs, yup! This is gonna keep me up at night haha
