Ripple has integrated the decentralized derivatives protocol Hyperliquid into its institutional prime brokerage platform, Ripple Prime.

The integration allows institutional clients to trade onchain derivatives via Hyperliquid while managing those positions alongside traditional assets.

According to a Feb. 4 press release from Ripple, qualified clients can now access digital assets, FX, fixed income, OTC swaps, and cleared derivatives through a single platform.

This marks Ripple Prime’s first integration with a major decentralized finance venue and reflects its goal of connecting traditional finance and DeFi markets.

# Expansion of Ripple Prime’s Institutional Offering

Ripple Prime was launched following Ripple’s acquisition of financial services platform Hidden Road in April 2025.

The platform was rebranded and relaunched under the Ripple name in October 2025 to function as both a brokerage service and a bridge between TradFi and DeFi.

With the Hyperliquid integration, Ripple Prime can now cross-margin DeFi positions with FX or fixed income exposures, enabling more capital-efficient strategies.

The development also highlights Ripple’s broader focus beyond XRP and positions Ripple Prime alongside other digital prime brokerage providers, including institutions linked to [Coinbase](https://coineagle.com/exchange/coinbase/).

# Implications for Institutional DeFi Adoption

For Hyperliquid, the partnership provides validation that institutional investors are increasingly willing to explore DeFi-based derivatives.

The integration suggests growing convergence between centralized financial infrastructure and onchain liquidity venues for professional market participants.
