Refusing Therapy

Is it just the older generation, or is it possibly something else?

my mother refuses therapy, for a variety of things but our biggest battle lately is that I need her to find a professional to work out her problems with because I can no longer handle her venting to me. I don't want to hear her complain, I barely want to hear her gasping breathing some days but most importantly I've been trying to get her to see a shrink to have someone to talk to about her issues. Because I don't care that I haven't seen my brother in 15 years, but this bothers her. and etc. there are a thousand things but dammit my escape is so close...
