[US] Received a new Nintendo switch 2, but didn’t purchase it

My mom received a super Mario switch game in the mail from Amazon. It was addressed to our old dog. (Our dog’s name was in her Amazon and USPS password so we assume that’s where it came from. Don’t worry, she changed it)

A few days later she received another switch game (Zelda), and a few days after that, a brand new switch 2. This time it didn’t say it came from Amazon but was just in a plain box.

We think it could be brushing, but wouldn’t that would be unnecessarily expensive for the scammer?

I want to use the switch, obviously lol, but I’m worried it was corrupted and will get into my information through my Wi-Fi or something?

Does anyone have an idea on why someone would do this? And more importantly, can I use it safely?
