Update: Moving On

I (53 M) posted about a month ago that my wife (54 F) wanted a divorce. Over the past month, we put more work into the house than we did in the past 15 years. As I was working, fixing, packing, and grieving, we lived together with her mostly being cold, demanding, and angry. This morning, I packed my car, grabbed the cat, and began a 2500 road trip to start my new life. I feel a mixture of relief, sadness, and awkwardness. I had to say goodbye to my dog ( broke my heart) and had a brief hug with my stbx wife, with some positive words spoken. As I get ready to sleep on my first night, Im thinking about the house, dog, and all of the missed opportunities to heal the marriage, from both of us, in the past 15 years. Four more days of driving, then restarting life.....
