Rear Sensors Driver Confidence Package

I have the Driver Confidence Package in my 25 Trax. When in reverse if I am approaching something it gives a single beep about 2' away form the object, then goes silent until I am just a handful of inches away from the object and then it beeps rapidly.

I noticed this when I first had the car services and the Chevy tech said that's the way they operate - but I am curious, do others that have that feature also operate that way, or do you get a steadily increasing series of beeps as you get closer in distance?
