Blind Fight says it gives immunity to gaze attacks but seems like it doesn't actually.

My pet Mastodon got a negative level from The Gnasher's Death-Stealing Gaze in the Midnight Isles standalone, even though he has Blind Fight. Does this feat not actually give immunity to gaze attacks, is it bugged? Or is a "gaze attack" something else?
