People here said my results weren’t possible playing under 8 hrs/week. I understand why.
I shared my graph recently showing ~$70k profit over ~5,900 MTTs in the past 2.5 years while working full-time and averaging under 8 hours of play per week.
A lot of people were skeptical, which I understand. For most of my first 7–8 years playing, I was breakeven or losing and had no real structure.
The biggest changes weren’t talent or volume. It was consistency and treating improvement like a skill.
What actually made the difference:
• Studying a little bit every day, even if only 15–30 minutes
• Doing multiple courses and taking detailed notes and building decision frameworks
• Learning how to use solvers properly (GTO Wizard, HRC, Octopi)
• Drilling common spots repeatedly
• Reviewing my own database to find leaks
• Asking questions and contributing in seminars and study groups
• Getting coaching and learning from stronger players
• Tracking everything instead of relying on feel
Most players rely on intuition and play volume without fixing underlying leaks. Once I focused on structured improvement, results followed naturally.
I’m not trying to convince everyone — skepticism is fair. This is mainly for players who are serious about improving and willing to approach the game in a more structured way.
Happy to answer questions here, and my DMs are open if anyone wants to discuss study process.
