Medication for postpartum
Has anyone had to go on medication for anxiety/depression? Even before a baby I had my issues mainly with anxiety but never wanted to be medicated as I had a bad reaction to sertraline once and avoided it ever since. But being almost 5 months postpartum I feel I’m getting worse and am considering it. My doctor kinda brushed things off at my 6 week appointment but maybe because she was quitting soon. I had a very colicky, difficult baby for 8-9 weeks, constant crying and no sleep. He’s a lot better now, still fussy at times but no where near as bad but also started the 4 month regression i believe because he hasn’t been sleeping great at all. I’m also now prone to bladder infections (UTIs), kidney stones, and bacterial vaginosis which is what I have now and the medication makes me feel terrible. I feel it’s always something. I never had any sort of physical issues before him. I feel I’m slowly deteriorating away mentally and physically. I made an appointment with a new doctor for mid March. My husband wants more kids but I don’t think I can, he has a daughter from a previous relationship and she’s older but still a handful. I don’t really enjoy or like being a mom. My husband isn’t an issue, he helps when he’s not in work or school. But still majority of the time I’m alone and don’t have any help. My sister will help here and there which is nice. But I feel the person I once was is gone. I don’t even remember who I use to be what I use to do. My body is different and so is my mind. I’m always tired and my body always hurts. I’m now losing so much of my hair. My moods have gotten worse instead of better. I just don’t enjoy anything about this. I love my kid but damn, nothing about this makes me happy or want more babies. I just can’t see myself as a mom to more kids either so I’m nervous for my marriage.
