Avatar Post-FaA fanfic poll

I'm writing a fanfic (well, 16 of them, but I'm focused on this one specifically right now) and I'm a bit stimied, so I would love community help.

There's context, but all that matters is: Aonung is trying to tame an *ikran* because Lo'ak baited him into it. The question is, should he miss, and how many times before he gets it?
