Professional Art & File Corruption

Hello! I'm an 18 year old artist, who is currently finishing their senior year in high school. I do an AP course at said high school. As I'm the sole student in that level, my teacher holds me to a high standard, especially with deadlines.

However, I use Clip Paint Studio and with the recent Windows issues for the past month or so my PC has been acting up, and it crashed, causing my project to corrupt when I was on track to finish it today (As of posting it is due in a few hours), and I'm completely panicked.

I have had issues with a late project or two and I don't want this to be seen as an excuse but this is a genuine issue as my work is gone. I have and am working on my backup file, but it backed up only in the sketch/beginning line stage.

My Mom saw me working all week and weekend and said if, I hypothetically, do get into trouble with my teacher she will explain she saw me working and that it really did just corrupt, but in that conversation, my mother and I talked about this happening and in that she said something that worried me.

She told me that in a professional setting, even though the file got corrupted, if I was working as an artist I'd still be held to the standard of finishing by a set deadline no matter what, and that what happened on my end is extremely unprofessional, and it's gotten me worried.

Is this a problem, when I pursue art, specifically digital art, will I get in trouble for these sorts of things in my career? Am I going to be alright?

Thank you for reading, and any advice is appreciated.
