My concussion experience so far at 16 days
I jumped from a moving vehicle at around 40mph due to a personal but unfortunate situation. To say the least the moment my skull hit the ground I lost all of my vision but was still conscious and could hear my body flying down the asphalt but barely feel it. I struck the rear left back of my skull pretty bad. Shortly after my vision slowly came back but when I tried to sit up the world was spinning so bad I kept falling and couldn't get off the ground, most of my motor functions were not working. After having a panic attack I lost consciousness. I was transported to the ER by ambulance.
In the ER I found I couldn't move well or even sit up due to extreme dizziness of everything spinning right and serious issues with my vision, also I was struggling to keep myself conscious most of the time. I was given a norco and zofran to help with the pain which did pretty much nothing. I eventually was found to have minor internal bleeding but no noticeable damage to my skull via CT. The internal bleeding I was told was probably going to stop on its own. After a confirmation test that it wasn't growing in size, I was cleaned, bandaged and was given a ride home but warned I probably had a concussion. After getting home I slept for a while.
For the first few days walking was brutal and driving was out of the question. I wasn't taking any pain meds just resting. I never lost my appetite so eating was still easy. After 2 days I was only dizzy if I looked up or down however keeping my head level I had seemed to no longer have issues walking. By day 3 I chanced trying to drive and found driving was not too bad and I was able to drive around without issues. By day 5 I started running again to workout without much difficulty except for body pain. On day 7 I opted to try and experiment I laid on my bed and hung my head off the edge upside down to see how bad it was, and I got horrifically dizzy, eventually it stopped and I sat up and laid down to sleep. When I awoke on day 8 I found all my dizziness completely gone even if I tried to force it to happen.
I'm now on my 16th day and the only things I have issues with are my fine motor skills are struggling, I shake a lot trying to do things like type or play instruments or write(typing a lot of this was hard). Also I'm dealing with some pretty wild depression now. But otherwise this so far is my concussion experience. Feel like I might've gotten super lucky
