Feedback wanted: I built a tool to help search Halakhic sources (using the Sefaria API)
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a side project at rabbisimulator.com, to help myself study, and I’m finally at the point where I need some "real world" testing from people who actually know the literature.
The idea is to help navigate legal literature more efficiently by linking directly to the texts.
A few notes on how I'm trying to make it work:
- Keyword Sensitivity: It’s designed to respond best to specific technical keywords found in the literature and conversational English.
- Sefaria Integration: Huge thanks to the team at sefaria.org. The app uses their digital library to provide direct links to the sources when you search, so you can actually verify the context of the source immediately.
I’m still refining the search logic and the database, so if you have a minute to play around with it and tell me where it’s lacking or where the source-linking feels off, I’d really appreciate the critique.

Thanks in advance!
