Single Mom - mid 40s- risk adverse

Hello and thank you in advance! I unfortunately know nothing about investing and the more I read about it the more confused I get 😕 I have about $500 to invest every month after matching my employer's 401k account.

Im extremely risk adverse and not sure where / what fund to invest in or where to start? I know about the HYSA but what else is out there?
