Fourth Faction Pitch: The Zillards
Kinda my idea if they ever decide to add a fourth faction into the Galactic War. This isnt so much as a faction in the traditional sense, but rather a new danger the Helldivers have to face.
The Zillards are a nomadic alien species resembling reptiles, who migrate across the galaxy finding the ideal foes that may provide them an honorable death. Having exceptionally long lifespans, they gradually become cursed with an insufferable sense of boredom, so they seek a means to conclude their long and empty life by feeding their primal urges for violence. They have returned to the segment of rhe galaxy where the Galactic War has been waging. They had taken note of the Helldivers, and were thrilled to know that a deadly opponent that does not fear death. After eons of boredom, they found a galaxy ripe with chaos they may revel in.
The Zillards do not occupy a planets like the other factions. Instead they covertly drop onto a planet, and proceed to have a "warm-up aession" by eliminating the localized forces before awaiting their duel with the Helldivers. Then they prepare their weapons and await the glory. When the Helldivers arrive, they will only see clusters of dead enemies. Bile Titans skewered with their own leg, Illuminate Overseers strung up like fish, and Automatons disassembled and rearranged into shrines of dedication to their primal gods. Only silence welcome them. The Helldivers mission is to hunt the Zillard. I emphasis it as singular, because instead of an army, they will be fighting only one of the lizards. Each Zillard is unique, different physical appearances and weapon loadouts. They're behaviors are varied as well, some choosing either to lurk in the shadows or charge in head on. Their intelligence is not to be underestimated either. They know well how the Helldivers strategies work, and will take advantage. A Zillard could catch a stratagem beacon thrown directly at it and crush it to pieces or throw it back at the Helldivers. Some may also have abilities to hack autonomous gear, such as drones and sentries, making them aim at the Helldivers themselves.
When a Zillard is finally slain, the Helldivers are now in a race against time. Internal implants have rigged to detonate, equal to that of perhaps ten hellbombs. The Helldivers may try to run, but they can only get so far. Super Earth will need specimens however. With the Super Destroyers scanning array, the Helldivers can hack the detonater and disarm, but be careful, you only get three chances, and short amount of time.
Basically, its a legally distinct version of Predator, with maybe a mix of the Gorn of Star Trek.
