The YouTube app refuses to work on my Xbox One and just hits me with "sorry, could not connect to Youtube" every time.

I've been trying to open the YouTube app for a good part of the last hour doing everything from reinstalling the app to hard resetting the console but no matter what I do it just tells me that it can't connect to the app. Could anybody help me fix this?
