What atrocities have y'all honed in on whole deconstructing?
Hello everyone! I decided to deconstruct the Bible. When I was a practicing Christian in my late teens/early 20s I decided to try Reading the Bible in its entirety. I began annotating and studying my Bible to strengthen my faith. I was only about 5 chapters in when my study began to turn to a more interrogative or skeptical approach and I didn't even finish the book of Genesis before losing my faith.
Now, I'd like to FINALLY read the whole Bible to do a deconstructive type of "Bible study" examining the various atrocities and I'm just fine tuning categories to focus on. So far I have:
- Women and Misogyny (violence against women, r*pe, patriarchal ideals, etc)
- Divine Evil: Acts and descriptions of God that aren't good
- Murder and Death (genocide, capital punishment, mass killings, etc)
- Human Rights (slavery, homophobia, racism, etc)
- Miscellaneous Bullshit (anything else)
I figure I could do another 2-3 categories but I specifically don't want to include scientific and historical inaccuracies or the Bible contradicting itself because I have a separate system for those. Also a note that I think my categories are pretty flexible so I don't want them to get too narrowly defined that it's hard to find examples (for instance, a war might fall under Divine Evil or Murder And Death depending on context)(also, Women and Misogyny are separated from Human Rights because I already know there's more than enough to make up it's own category)
Are there any other categories/topics y'all would recommend?
