Costco IT Internship Question

I had a question about how referrals impact the Costco IT internship hiring process. If you include someone as a referral—especially a recruiter or a team member from the department you’re applying to—does it significantly improve your chances of getting an interview?

Do referrals actually help move your application forward, or is the process still mostly based on your resume and qualifications regardless of who referred you?

Also, does having a referral typically make it easier to get an interview, or does it just increase visibility without guaranteeing anything?
