Why do religious people get hate on so often?

Hey there, I am a 13 year old boy who is part of the Christian faith. Now, I’m usually not one to say stuff like this, but it feels like people just dislike religious people for some reason. And when I say religious people, I mean only Christians. People don’t mock other religions because that’d be ‘rude’, ‘bigoted’, etc, but apparently it’s okay to mock Christians.

I once mentioned my faith in a now deleted post just ONCE, and people harassed me saying ‘religion is fake’, ‘religion is bs’, etc. Some guy even asked if I was homophobic because apparently ‘Christians are homophobic.’

I’m not trying to sound rude, but do you know how stupid that last statement sounded when I first read it? Like, does that guy not know that Christianity is about love???

Anyways, sorry for the little rant. It just frustrates me because people hate on Christians for just having different religious debates. And for the people who call all Christians bigots and stuff, just know you’re the bigoted one for thinking a group of people are hateful just because of their beliefs.
