Now if you are over the age of 30, you probably smoked marijuana at some point. Like we all know, it contains THC and that's what gets you high.
Would you believe that now, THCa is the preferred compound. Its the non psychoactive compound found in weed. The claim is, it converts to THC when heated. If you search Google, you will get multiple results repeating the same claim. It's word for word across dozens of websites. I guarantee there will be dozens of replies on this post parroting the same thing.
Here's the issue https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5549281/
They tested under super controlled conditions and the temperature range wasn't even a third of the temperature of a joint. Spoiler....the rate of conversion dropped dramatically with a 10 degree adjustment.
Secondly, if you look up the COA of older strains, think og kush, thunder fuck, they list THC as the main compound with very little THCa.
Here's an older study explaining in detail how THCa is different than THC https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5549534/
Why though? ... everyone points to the farm bill allowing hemp to have a certain amount of THC. Now hemp can be transported legally across the country. So did a large company just flood the market with hemp, then astroturfed the Internet with the claim THCa is THC.
It's so bizarre to smoke regular weed one day, then try THCa and be told it's the same thing. It's not, it's garbage, doesn't even smell like weed. Yet if you say that everyone repeats the exact same thing like a hive mind.
