Thoughts on Therapy
Hey All, so bit of background, 42 yr old female, diagnosed in 2011, child sex abuse from father and then first relationship involved, physical and gang rape, I've two amazing daughters 21 & 20, have had other sexual abuse scenarios in family not involving myself but between niece and nephew which caused a major family breakdown. My brother (father of my niece who was victim of my nephew) stopped talking to me 3 years ago as him & his wife felt I let their daughter down after they told their daughter that I had the same thing happen to me aswell (not disclosing who abused me) but basically I had agreed to go to my sisters (initially I was not meant to be there) anyway when I decided I had been too triggered and really didn't know what was expected of me, I rang my sister to say I wouldn't be going, my brother and his wife said I had never cared about their daughter and had previously used terms like "condoning" and "conditioned" (because I remained living with my father after the abuse came out)
I have tried starting back at therapy but find it extremely difficult and seems to increase my anger that I am afraid because I have no where to direct it that I will end up taking it out on myself.
Has anyone had similar when it comes to therapy or any advise on how to navigate therapy
