I can’t tell if she’s being friendly or if I’m overthinking it, how do I not mess this up?

So I (22M) have been talking to this girl from work/school for a few weeks now. At first it was just

normal conversation, but lately she’s been doing little things that are throwing me off.

She laughs at basically everything I say (even when it’s not that funny), she stands pretty close

when we talk, and she’ll randomly text me about small stuff that she doesn’t really need to text

me about. The other day she touched my arm while we were talking and held eye contact for a

second longer than normal.

The thing is… I genuinely can’t tell if she’s just naturally friendly or if she’s hinting at something.

I don’t want to assume she’s into me and make it awkward, especially since we see each other

regularly. But I also don’t want to miss something obvious and look clueless.

How do you tell the difference between someone just being nice vs. actually interested? And if

she is interested, what’s the smoothest way to move things forward without making it weird?
