Austin bunionectomy surgery

I am 15 days post-op Austin bunionectomy with 1 screw. I participated in a clinical trial where I stayed at the surgery center for 4 days. I get pain every now and then but not as bad as week 1. The last time I saw someone was 8 days ago. I won’t see the surgeon until I am 4 weeks (so 2 weeks left). However, I called the office today to see if I am able to go at 2 weeks just to make sure everything is going okay and an assistant answered the phone and said I can start walking with the boot, but keep it short distance. Idk the call seemed rushed.. I am scared to start walking or putting any weight, I want someone to see it first.:/ Any advice?
