Is the player base getting better or did I just move up to harder lobbies.

I am a middle aged middle skill player and I have become used to playing about 50% easy lobbies and 50% hard lobbies, but lately the skill level seems to have increase quite a bit in every game. Is that me getting better or the game not getting new and low skilled players anymore?
Not complaining, just wondering if other people have notice this.
