I will never forget Chasing Sunsets... What a Ride! | Mythik Review
I played this game a couple years ago but in waiting for the updates, ended up taking a long break and just recently restarted the entire game and man.. Stone Fox Studios was in their bag when it came to developing this game, characters, and story!
Back then I will admit I only played AVNs because I was a horny guy but after revisiting this game in its full completion and with other AVNs i've gone back to visit, I've realized how much depth and compelling stories these games have to offer and its not just a jerkfest for me anymore! (although i still enjoy the lewd scenes heheh)
So I will say I dont really know how many different endings there are, but I will say I tried a harem path and ended up>! only getting Jaye and marrying her with twins on the way!!<
The supporting cast were all bombshells
Theres so much positives to say about this game, and the ones that really stick out to me are the characters and facial expressions.
They have such fun and dynamic expressions its really great to me
This was one of my first AVNs ever and I immedietly fell in LOVE with Jaye and her design, and personality years ago... but this time around I suppose I changed as a person and LOVE Mal and her personality more haha. I love the story and how interestingly taboo it is yet perfectly not crossing a line of borderline weird, they make the "family" aspect of the game perfect for both girls.
Like I said earlier, I really was into Jaye and the whole sister thing growing up together and splitting apart and all that, and shes one of my favorite LIs design wise, but this time around I felt way more compelled to Mal and actually plan on going back to prioritize a happy ending with her (if possible but I imagine so). Something about Mal just feels more natural to me and its maybe because of her nerdiness, organically building a relationship with her unlike already knowing MC has a thing for Jaye, and her tragic background just makes me want her more!
Another fun positive for this game was the fact there was a proper ending. In many animes or shows I watch that are romance, the MC ends up with the girl and well thats it, dont get to see how they lived on later on. I still do wish there was some gameplay afterwards after getting married but I understand the chapter was closed, time for new work, but yes seeing MC travel the world with that map was a cool addition, being able to see different time points in the future and how the MC interacted with everyone still was fun and very satisfying for me, felt like my hard work paid off haha. Also it was super cool seeing the game crossing over to different AVNs that I recognized, what a fun thing to be able to do for the community.
ONLY NEGATIVES I have (which are very minor) is the games animations for lewd scenes and well how fast the last chapter felt. Not much to say about the animations, they are very fluent and have high frames? (Idk if thats the right term lol) but it kinda loses the quality in graphics for me and the skin and lighting feels offish. And for the last chapter well we kind of just rushed straight to marriage and asking Mal to move in and idk it just really jumped me by surprise lol but its fine, ive seen a LOT worse in terms of AVNs and rushing
Idk if anyone else gets like me whenever I finish a really good AVN, and ill always compare it to how I feel when finishing a great anime, but man I just sit and stare at my ceiling reflecting on what a blast it was to experience this story. Idk what the general public of AVN players review this game as but for me it was top notch in its story and characters, like I loved the ENTIRE cast and even the regular cast not just LIs. I doubt anyone truly cares to read my review of it but its just how I reflect after literally just finishing the game lolol.
Im definitely gonna run this game back and get whatever other endings I can get (I dont use walkthroughs or anything fr) but when its over, man ima miss this game and the characters... what a ride it was. Truly felt like a perfect story for me and I really appreciate the love and effort that the Devs put into this game!
