Saving paternity leave for 5m turned out to be the BEST!

My husband wasn't able to take any time away from work when our baby was born. We knew he'd only have 2 days for the hospital stay so we planned around it with support from family for food/cleaning. I was obviously upset at the time but quickly realized that there wasn't a ton he could do with the baby anyway. I exclusively breastfed which, for the first month, took up most of her waking hours anyway.

Now he is able to take some time off and baby is 5 months. It's SO much more fun. He can do so much more with her now and seeing her hit so many milestones together has been such a joy. She's starting to laugh, roll, teeth, grab, sit up... It's just a blast to hangout with her and watch all these little changes together. An added bonus is that nursing to sleep isn't as effective anymore, so now we can tackle it together.

I think we'll do the same with our second child if possible because this situation has worked out to be some of the best days of our life!
