Frequent Illness Working in Schools

Hi Teachers :)

Im not a teacher but a school based occupational therapist (OT) in Canada. Ive only been working in the school system since Spring 2025 but I have had some sort of illness every single month including pneumonia in December 😩 My question is will my immune system eventually adjust to these super mutant student germs ? When you were a new teacher did you find yourself ill this often and did it eventually get better ? I love my job but hate being ill so often. Please give me some hope 😂

Additionally, I imagine this varies from state to state but do schools in America have OTs in the schools as well ?
