Mouth and lips still super numb from filing 4 hours ago? Is this normal?
Hi guys, the entire lower right of my mouth (inside, lips, right side of the tongue, skin around it above the jaw) is still numb from the filling I [25F] got 4 hours ago (I was not warned about how long the numbness would last otherwise I would’ve had dinner beforehand), and after the filling my dentist told me I shouldn’t eat for around 2 hours or until the numbness wears off. My dentist applied some sort of numbing gel with a qtip inside my cheek, and then used 3-4 injections all over the right side of my mouth.
It’s been 4 hours and my bottom lip is completely numb, I have gotten fillings at another clinic before but my numbness never lasted more than an hour.
I am starting to get a bit worried now since it doesn’t feel like it has worn off at all. Is this normal? How long does it take to wear off, I have chronic migraines and I’m having a really bad episode from not being able to eat. I tried drinking a sip of water but I can’t feel my throat so i am worried it’s going down the wrong pipe. How do I eat something safely?
