What are your honest thoughts on the Jonah movie?

I liked that in the countertop scenes they had Bob and Larry trying to coax Archibald out so he could play Jonah.

I also find it interesting that they were very true to the Bible book, even having Jonah telling people not to eat pigs, bats, or bugs in the opening song, and ending it with Jonah not learning anything.

I also thought it was a good lesson about how you should extend mercy to everyone, even those you feel don’t deserve it.

I find it interesting that they were true to the Bible book for the most part, yet they cut out the part where the tree that God provides for shade withers and dies, and Jonah gets upset, and God basically asks why he cares about a plant but not about Nineveh’s people. I mean, they do show a tree appearing, but that’s as far as that goes.

I also watched the behind the scenes video for the movie, and apparently there was much debate over which vegetable character should play Jonah, and they initially thought it shouldn’t be Archibald because he’s not as well-known as some of the other vegetable characters, so do you think they got it right?
