Why I don't think Warhammer 40k will be as successful as the Warhammer fantasy series.
I honestly don’t think Warhammer 40k will be as successful as Warhammer the series. Even with all the issues Warhammer 3 has, people still play it because it’s the closest thing to experiencing the tabletop in a video game. On the other hand, with 40k, there are already plenty of games that let you play the tabletop experience digitally. So, I’m not sure how much Total War can bring to the table that hasn’t already been done.
I don’t see how CA making a 40k game will be any better than Sega’s Dawn of War series. From the gameplay footage CA has released so far, it’s honestly unimpressive. Space Marines just blobbing up in melee? That’s not 40k. If we’re talking about Warhammer 40k, it should be like Dawn of War, fast-paced, strategic, and full of epic battles, not just massive units clumping together.
Anyone else feeling the same way? I really think CA might be missing the mark with this one.
