Considering a move to Revelstoke, could use some honest opinions
Sorry if this isn't really the place to ask these questions, just figured I'd go straight to the source.
Revelstoke has been on my mind a lot for the beautiful nature, seemingly great weather, chill vibe, nice people (from what I hear), and proximity to the resort. I'm an outdoorsy 42 yr old guy who hikes, bikes, plays hockey, and skis. I work remotely, so not looking for a job - but need good internet.
Some things that concern me
- Is it too small of a town that it can feel empty/isolated?
- How easy it is to make friends. I'm also single so meeting a potential partner is a bonus
- Do locals want outsiders coming in, making the housing/rental crisis worse
- This one might be paranoid, but I have a small dog and there's way more predators in western Canada that would love him as a snack
- I'm a mid level skier, so maybe Revelstoke resort is too high level for me?
Any help is appreciated 👌
