I thought I was okay… until today
I thought I was okay… until today It’s been a few months since the breakup. No huge fight. No cheating. Just two people who couldn’t make it work.
I’ve been doing everything “right.” No contact. Gym. Work. Staying busy. On the outside I look fine. But some days it randomly hits me that they’re just living. Laughing. Meeting new people. Existing without me. And that’s when it hurts. Healing really isn’t linear. You can feel strong for a week and then one random memory pulls you under.
Honestly, as I’m writing this, I’m working through a breakup workbook that’s been helping me practice actual detachment techniques instead of just sitting in my thoughts. It’s called The Breakup Survival Guide Romance Edition. It gives structure when emotions feel chaotic.
I’m putting it here in case it helps someone else who feels stuck in the waves.
If you’re in this stage right now, you’re not crazy. You’re grieving. And grief doesn’t move in a straight line.
