Can I hit someone’s car without hearing or feeling it

I was just a few inches away from accidentally hitting another car in a parking lot, the car’s fucking sensors saved me the last minute. I have a 2016 Acura RDX. I checked the other car and there was no damage, like my car was HELLA close to the other one. Would it have been possible for me to hit it without feeling or hearing it? Cuz I didn’t. This is also in Illinois.
