Help, need advice! Lovenox during pregnancy

Need Advice

Hi mamas, so I'm 9 wks preggo, and because I have a heterozygous prothrombin gene mutation I have to take baby aspirin and Lovenox injections daily (I also had a freak incident where I had a bilateral vertebral artery dissection a year ago, but I'm healed and they don't think that has anything to do with my prothrombin gene mutation, although- we don't know what caused that dissection. We ruled out other well known common causes so at this point it's chalked up as spontaneous, but I do think it plays into the decision to do both baby Aspirin AND Lovenox).

Are any other ladies on Lovenox during pregnancy due specifically to a prothrombin gene mutation? I really only see women mentioning being on it due to Factor V or APS.

Also, I've read through TONS of Reddit posts about trying to relieve the pain but no matter what I've done most days are EXRUCIATING. It feels like injecting lemon juice into a paper cut on my pregnant belly DAILY, or getting stung by a bee daily in the belly. And I've gotten some pretty gnarly bruises.

I've seen on some posts that people have had success with name brand Lovenox vs generic, but I don't think my insurance will approve that. Has anyone had success with one generic brand/manufacturer vs another though? I saw that Winthrop is a generic that's supposed to be "identical" to name brand. Has anyone tried that version? Did it hurt any less?

I've tried ice, no ice, fast, slow, I exhale when my partner does the shot. With some injections the pain is surprisingly tolerable, but the vast majority are INCREDIBLY painful and it's starting to make me dread them each day/cause stress & anxiety. So I guess I'm just curious to connect with others in my boat and I'm open to advice on pain reduction. Thank you! :)

Oh! And has anyone pregnant used a Buzzy Bee or the cold spray from a can to minimize pain?
