Form 1 Luger SBR

Recently picked up a 1917 production P08 Luger that I’d like to have the option of running with a detachable board stock off an LP08 Artillery Luger. Since my pistol isn’t a Navy, Artillery, or other NFA exempted model, that would require a Form 1 to be filled out to re-manufacture it into an SBR.

Only problem is that I would then need to engrave my making information onto the pistol, which I really don’t want to do to a century old gun. Is there any way to apply for a marking variance as an individual to have the required markings placed on the mounting hardware of the stock? I could see this as logically being ok, since the pistol would only be in SBR configuration while using the stock and would return to being in pistol configuration once the stock was removed, but obviously logic and the ATF/gun laws in general are kinda hit or miss.
