Problem of evil i have some questions

1 why does natural evil happen because there not souls without free will like earthquakes and cancer

2 why doesn't God interfere with anything like he did in the old testament why was he there all the time

3 and does God try to stop evil it semes like he could be doing way more even if he doesn't reveal himself.
