I keep reaching out, provoking, showing up… even after I ended things, because I can’t stand feeling like I lost control.

Even if I was the one who “discarded” you, when I see you moving on, something in me gets triggered. It feels like I’ve been replaced. Like I’m no longer important. That hits a very deep wound. So I need to check if I still affect you. If you react — even with anger — it reassures me that I still matter.

I don’t come back because I love you. I come back because I need validation. I need to feel that I can still enter your mind whenever I want.

There’s also something darker: the emptiness. When you’re no longer emotionally available to me, I feel irrelevant. And irrelevance scares me more than losing the relationship. So I knock on your door again — not necessarily to reconcile, but to make sure I still have a place in your world.

It’s not love. It’s fear.

Fear of not being enough.

Fear of not mattering.

Fear of being forgotten.
