I think I made an arch-nemesis from going to the grocery store high a few years ago [6]
So I live in walking distance of my grocery store. A few years back, I used to walk there high pretty-frequently. I made friends with the guy that overlooked the self-checkout area.
One time I went in, high of course, and he said something to the affect of "hey man, you still liking my new hair?". I was so confused, I had no idea what he was talking about. He explained further that last time I came in, I had said I liked his new haircut. At the time, I didn't remember this at all. I don't really know what I said after that, but it must have been accidentally more abrasive than I intended and I hurt his feelings. It wasn't intentional, I just hadn't remembered and was confused.
A little while later, I slightly started to recall this interaction where I said I liked his hair. But since, that day, he legitimately will not talk to me, and even goes so far as to glare me down when I walk in or check out. Like holds a glare just long enough to make it clear he's looking at me, just a tad bit longer, and then looks away.
He's extremely polite to other customers, but not to me. This has gone on for years! Recently he seemed to have stopped working at that location. But later I went into another location nearby (same chain) and he was there, same reaction.
This has now been going on for probably 4 years now! I sincerely feel bad for having hurt his feelings. Reminiscing on it over an evening toke.
