I have always heard that Christmas has major pagan roots/orgins, and that Christians even stole ideas from paganism/yule?

I have always heard this, especially so about the Christmas tree, yule log, mistletoe, the gift giving, even Santa himself all having pagan roots. But I was this post eariler here ( https://thejewitches.tumblr.com/post/802672888069193728/christmas-trees-arent-paganso-why-are-people-so ) that says otherwise now I am confused what is true?
