I’m building a tool that tells freelancers what to charge (and finds their clients). Is this stupid?
Most freelancers don’t struggle with skill.
They struggle with:
• What should I charge?
• How long will this actually take?
• How do I justify this price?
• Where do I even find clients consistently?
So I started building something a bit controversial.
You describe the project.
It analyzes:
• The type of work
• The complexity
• Your past projects
• Your experience level
• The client’s stated (or unstated) budget
And it gives you:
• A suggested price range
• A realistic timeline
• A breakdown of why that price makes sense
• A message you can send to the client to justify it
Basically, it removes the “uhhh…” moment before sending a quote.
But that’s only part of it.
It also:
• Pulls leads from Google Maps based on the kind of businesses you want
• Syncs your Google Sheet leads automatically
• Tracks lead → client → project
• Generates proposals directly from quotes
• Stores everything in one place
It’s like an OS for small agencies and solo freelancers.
Here’s where I’m unsure:
Would you actually trust AI to tell you what to charge?
Or does that feel dangerous?
And is Google Maps lead sourcing built-in a genius move… or a red flag?
I’d rather hear the brutal truth now than build something nobody needs.
