Hey all,

So I recently returned to committed boarding this year, and at 30 I figured I’d go for a more convenient setup to maximize my time on the hill. With all that in mind I went with StepOns, and a new Cultivator from Burton. My boots are the Waverange StepOn.

I have to say I love the board and bindings, although I may have underestimated how quickly I’d pick boarding back up and I think my board is a bit below my general skill level, but nonetheless I’m happy.

Now I typically ride smaller hills in Ontario Canada, but I’ve had an opportunity to ride Big White and Silverstar in BC the past few days, and I’ve found that I am needing to crank these down so tight that it gives me pretty rough boot cut, and I still find my heel coming up in the boot. I had shoved my hat in on the top of my foot and it was better, but still not ideal.

Has anyone else noticed this with the Burton StepOns boots? I’ve considered just finishing the season and then going for the Highshot Pro X’s next year, but I don’t want to see the same issues on a boot that expensive. Is it just me going base model that is causing my trouble?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

TLDR: Love my Burton StepOns, but I have to overtighten them and still get heel lift on bigger terrain, anyone else?
