Manual 2021 1st Gear Sluggish.

Got a 2021 manual transmission with 57k, has been an absolute champ. Did an 900 mile road trip and on way home in last 200 miles first gear just wanted to get the car rolling and didn’t to want to go over 1500 rpm. Had to shift to 2nd gear at about 5 mph. Ran fine at 70 mph. Today engine light came on. Any ideas here?
