Question about weapon mods and perks.

I'm using a hunting rifle which has a built in additional crit chance. I modded the rifle with a custom action to increase rate of fire. Now the gun only displays the weapon mod instead of the crit chance in the menu. Does this mean the mod replaced the crit chance, or is it still active but just not displayed?
