How would someone learn to mimic the style of the crewniverse's behind the scenes sketches?

Maybe not exact art style, but they always have this nice vibe to them I wish I could try my hand at but I just don't know how. Their fanart, sketches, storyboarding etc; stuff in the art books and whatnot.
