Rough scab feeling on back vaginal wall and pain during sex (advice please)

Please help me understand if this is normal or what the cause is. I want to know if anyone else has experience with the same thing as I am worried.

I (F) am in a long-distance relationship and after not seeing my partner (M) in a while, of course when I saw him again a month ago we were having a lot of sex. Some of it was very rough but didn’t hurt at the time at all. Then, all of a sudden, a little bit of pain during sex starts after 2 weeks. Usually just a little at the beginning and then it’s totally fine so I was like……ok let’s just use a lot of lubricant and do a lot of warming up (so we do now every time). This was 2 weeks ago when it started. At the same time, I get bacterial vaginosis symptoms (fishy odor, runny discharge) and so we stop having vaginal sex for a bit while I do my 7-day clindamycin course. It clears up. So then there is 2 days when sex is totally fine, not painful at all. And then it starts again with a little bit of a twinge of pain near the entrance too. Of course there is a lot of lubricant being used and it is very gentle and slow.

At this point I am like ok what is happening in there. So I stick my finger up there today and the walls are all rough like a scab that I feel like I can pull out like a clump. I put my fingernails into it a bit and feel nothing so it is dead tissue. And it’s deep in there, not just one or two little sections but the whole wall. Metallic smell so I assume it’s like clumps of scab or dried blood on my vaginal walls (particularly the back one, or the “bottom” when I am laying down).

Is the explanation here the rough sex causing micro tears that maybe healed in this scab-like way? Or is it the BV healing? Is it a bacterial mat maybe? Idk what is going on but I really want to like get a pair of tweezers and just pull the weird clumps out because it feels like they are blocking my canal when I put my finger up there (I won’t do that, I won’t touch it, I know that is bad).

Is this perhaps a sign of an STD? The internet doesn’t seem to indicate that but please if anyone has had this happen to them before, let me know.
