How happy are you with Fortinet lately?
It seems to me that Fortinet cannot stop screwing with things that work, and their support has gotten worse over the years. I've been a Fortinet customer for 18 years, but I'm seriously considering walking away...
Issue 1: I have nearly a dozen Fortigates at our remote sites. Several are on 6.x. I try to update them and they fail. Support wants to do a bunch of stuff that might brick them. During business hours. At sites that I can't reach without an airliner... *fail*
Issue 2: We want to issue Surface Pro tablets with LTE to our sales reps, and have them connect to VPN on login. Always on VPN. Seems pretty straightforward, right? Using the free FortiClient, in demo mode it just worked. The proof of concept was a success. We tried to move it to production and need to jump through a thousand hoops (and additional licensing, of course) to get them to work. Two weeks after deployment, they all failed. The app stopped showing the login option! Support blames Windows and wipes their hands of the whole thing.
This is the kind of crap I expect from some crappy small software company, not the lynchpin of our entire security infrastructure.
I won't go Cisco, and Juniper is a joke nowadays. I may have to start exploring alternatives...
