Diverse Representation or False Hope?

As a woman of color, Tyra Banks had the good intention of displaying diversity on her reality modeling show. However, in the "world of wolves" that is the actual fashion industry, many girls don't stand a chance. By casting them in the show and overpromising results, was she giving them false hope or truly opening doors? This is a question I always ask myself; it is a thin line to walk.

In comparison, the sister franchise, Australia’s Next Top Model, displayed a much narrower range of diversity. Their cast was approximately 97% white Caucasian, focusing on very distinctive requirements and specific physical features.

While Tyra broke barriers by showcasing different heights and ethnicities, many industry insiders argued she was "setting them up" for a world that wasn't as progressive as her TV set. Meanwhile, the Australian version was often praised for producing "real" high-fashion models, but criticized for its lack of inclusivity.in result, the Australia version model are doing well in international platform
