Anyone know the gossip on the new park?

Wilmington has many projects like the downtown trail from CFCC-Brooklyn Arts-Love Grove-Forest Hills that live in funding purgatory for years at a time.

Yet this random park got commitments of $20-$30 million or more from the City, County, and Endowment within weeks.

I'm not opposed to more parks, I think we definitely need more green spaces. But according to Star News this property was sold to an LLC for pennies on the dollar and the taxpayers are buying it for 4x the appraised value.

Does anyone know the low down?
