BassPlayers Community Bass Pedal Project
Hey everyone, hope you are well?
Let me start this off by saying the following is just an idea I had, and thought it would be pretty cool. Also at the end of the project all the files including drill template, build of materials etc will be available openly without question.
So, I run a YouTube and GoliathFX, both very badly I might add but I'm trying. I'm always looking for ways to create something fun and that I can make into content. This is my latest idea.
I want us to start a discussion on what would be your go too pedal. What it needs to have. What it looks like. Control placement. What it doesn't need. Etc etc. This could be for an overdrive, preamp, fuzz, etc or a combination of circuit types.
What I'll then do is collect as much of those thoughts and ideas and then create some polls maybe on narrowing down those ideas with the aim at getting a community driven bass pedal. Then I'll make a little YouTube series on it. Going through the breadboarding, the designing stages, creating artwork, prototypes etc and then releasing all the files for any DIY'ers out there to be able to go and make their own. I won't build any for GoliathFX at all, this will just be a DIY project only, I could assemble for individuals who can't build them but that would be it.
I'd rather stick to the analogue realm, so no crazy multi-fx things or IR loaders etc as I'm not clued up on DSP yet.
If you think its a stupid idea then voice it, but please be polite and I look forward to any ideas and input. Cheers,
