Completed Trigger Happy Havoc, my biggest positive surprise in gaming

Probably the best spent 1 dollar in my life. Never played a VN or anime styled game before. Starting this game I never would have expected it to become one of my favourite games ever, yet, it has. Story was awesome, was always excited to get on the game the next day to see what's next. I got spoiled on a few minor things but it didn't take away from the experience at all. The characters also memorable and have much more depth to them than it would seem at first glance. I rarely pay attention to the music in game but I really enjoyed it here, as well as the humour

My favourite character is Kyoko, which I would have never think I'd say at the start of the game. She's cold and seems like she wants nothing to do with Makoto. But as she opened up with each chapter she has become my favourite by the end of the game, I like how close she and Makoto became.
Second favourites are Sayaka and Mondo, which are both pretty tragic characters in their own way. I've seen that Sayaka is probably the most controversial character in the community for what she did but I forgive her actions. Abusing Makoto's trust was scummy, but she was desperate and didn't know the full rules to the game, she probably thought she'd escape and Makoto would get his shot later to also get out. Also the fact she hesitated until the very end, I believe she was a genuine friend to him (even more so after getting her school mode ending). I hope that if THH ever gets an alternative story like 2x2 that her and Mondo survive.

Cases were well thought out, there were some I managed to figure out by myself pretty quick and others I would have never come to the conclusion by myself. Best ones were the 3rd and 4th. Speaking of the fourth one I think Sakura had potential to be utilised more in the story, she didn't really do anything up until chapter 4

I will definitely continue the series once 2x2 comes out, which I've heard that the second game is even better. In the meantime, I have seen that there are a bunch of light novels I can read. Do they spoil anything about the later games or am I good to read them now? I'd wanna know more about the universe
